Sri
Ramachandra Medical Centre and Sri Ramachandra Hospital have
taken a quantum leap in terms of expansion by addition of new
programmes and specialities with a commitment towards quality.
Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre is a major referral tertiary
care center in South India and has 1675 beds at present. It
is located within the Deemed University campus. The Hospital
caters to the needs of the students for their medical learning
and training in various faculties. Placed in a sub-urban locality
and amidst major highways, the hospital serves a cross section
of the community belonging to every economic segment of society.
Nearly 2500 patients visit the outpatient facility everyday
of the year. The diagnostic capability available at the hospital
is comparable to any University Hospital Centre in any advanced
country.
The Cardiac Care Centre, the Neuro Care Centre, the Gastroenterology
Centre, the Trauma Care Centre and the Dialysis and Renal
Transplantation Centre have done extremely well and have come
to stay in a very big way in this part of the world. The Orthopaedic
services, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. Pulmonology,
Radiology and Pathology departments have complemented adequately
the enormous work done by the primary care departments.
The Emergency Medical Resuscitation and Critical Care services
have reached their standard level of efficiency within three
years of its commission.
Exclusive work in terms of cadaver renal and cardiac transplantations
as well as handling of intra-cranial bleeding dye to ruptured
aneurysms and AV malformations have become a common routine
with impressive statistics of performance and outcome.
After this institution became a Deemed University, the hospital
has acquired a third generation CT scan, a 1.5 Tesla MRI,
Spiral CT, a bi-plane Cath lab, a Nuclear Gamma Camera, Dornier
Delta Lithotripter in addition to the state of the art Echo,
Dopplers, Neuro Equipment and laser.
Establishment of telemedicine programme between our institution
and GB Pant Hospital, Andaman, which was inaugurated by the
Ex-Prime Minister of India Shri. Atal Behari Vajpayee on Jule
3, 2002 was a momentous achievement in the history of our
institution.
