Mauritius January 11th and 12th 2008
About Practi-med
Practi-med was created as a forum to bring together healthcare leaders from around the globe to educate practicing physicians in developing local solutions to common global healthcare challenges and disease burdens.
The Mauritius conference will meet the region-specific needs of both specialists and generalists by providing the most up-to-date information on evidence-based medicine. It also enabled clinicians to successfully incorporate prevention programs into practice and learn cost effective medicine while maintaining quality.

Format
Practi-Med is a live educational program. It includes a symposium designed and led by the editors of the New England Journal of Medicine, which focused on medical advances of the past year. Practi-Med used an innovative educational format that combined didactic sessions with interactive case discussions led by local healthcare leaders. The program was designed to maximize sustainable learning.
Practi-Med Mauritius will have an ongoing and profound impact well beyond the event itself. The live program was designed to form the basis for print and e-based materials that could be accessed by a wide range of physicians and healthcare providers, thereby reaching a far greater audience than just the program attendees. These materials would form a large educational resource over time that would cover the most effective approaches to care in multiple regions of the world.
